The Best Horror You Can Stream on Shudder in April 2025

Shudder is treating all of us fools to some treats this April. They are adding newer titles like Shadow of God, Fréwaka, Dead Mail, and 825 Forest Road. So, we can finally discuss some more recent movies in our group chats. However, as usual, I am all about the older films hitting the streamer this month. It’s almost like the app knows what I like and has crafted another list of bangers for me. I have my 80s slashers cozying up to my 90s slashers. I see a British supernatural horror film from the 70s next to a Lucio Fulci southern gothic movie from the 80s. Plenty of good stuff is hitting the app this month, and I am here with the five that warmed my cold little heart.

The Best Movies to Stream on Shudder This Month

April Fool’s Day (1986)

College students head to a friend’s remote island to celebrate April Fool’s Day. However, the line between pranks and murders gets very murky as they begin to realize nothing is what it seems. I have a soft spot for 1980s slashers and am very biased. However, I think it is one of the best holiday horror movies of its era. So, I will be opening Shudder on April 1st and enjoying this festive gem.

You can watch April Fool’s Day on April 1st.

The Beyond (1981)

A woman inherits an old hotel in Louisiana that seems to be where supernatural incidents happen. She soon discovers the hotel was built over an entrance to hell. I am still playing catch-up in Lucio Fulci’s filmography. However, The Beyond is one of the titles I am most embarrassed to have not seen yet. So, I am glad Shudder is helping me by adding it to their library. I need to check it out this time or give up my seat at the cool kid’s table.

You can watch The Beyond on April 7th.

Fright Night (1985)

A teen suspects his new neighbor is a vampire, but no one will believe him. As a child, I wore out the VHS my mom recorded Fright Night on. It is still one of my favorite vampire movies, and I will use any excuse to rewatch it. Shudder getting one of my favorites this early in a lousy year makes me giddy. This cinematic masterpiece is also the reason I still have a huge crush on Chris Sarandon. We need to make vampires hot again because kids today do not understand how good we had it.

You can watch Fright Night on April 1st.

Halloween H20 (1998)

Laurie Strode has started a new life in Northern California as a single mom who is the dean of a private school. However, that is not stopping Michael Myers from reminding her that they have unfinished business. As a Halloween stan account, I know that not all sequels, timelines, and reboots are created equally. So, I appreciate the hell out of this one simply because it is one of the better sequels. H20 is tense, fun, and actually good in a way that the franchise had not experienced since 1981’s Halloween II.

You can watch Halloween H20 on April 1st.

Psychomania (1973)

The leader of a teen motorbike gang is encouraged by his mother to commit suicide and become a member of the undead. I have never heard of this British supernatural horror, and I plan to fix this issue immediately. I want to know what Satan worshipers looked like in 1973 UK cinema.  I also need to know how vicious this biker gang really is. However, I am mostly here because it sounds like there might be a little zombie activity, and I need that on a spiritual level. I do not know how Shudder knows me so well, but it is really the subscription that keeps on giving.

As usual, Shudder is matching my freak. I love to see it and hope you enjoy these horrific gems as much as I plan to. However, even if you don’t, the app has an endless library of genre titles. So, you will find something to scare you. Happy streaming, ghouls!
