It Came From Shudder: November Edition

I celebrate Halloween all year long, and lucky for me, so does Shudder. They are back with another list of movies I need to inject into my eyeballs immediately. Outside of that, they have also brought back The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula, so every Tuesday I can watch a new group of drag artists compete in one of my favorite series on the app. However, I come to this hallowed space every month to tell you what movies I will be running toward when they drop. So, here are five titles I’m thankful I’ll be able to check out on my favorite streamer.

The Best Movies to Stream on Shudder in November

A Tale of Two Sisters (2003)

A girl returns home from the psychiatric hospital but upon reuniting with her sister, begins to experience strange events. I’m so happy to see this Kim Jee-woon masterpiece return to Shudder. I plan to make multiple friends watch it immediately. I’m legitimately entering the group chats as you read this. If I have your number, you should check your phone because guess what?

Final Cut (2023)

While trying to shoot a low-budget zombie movie, a film crew finds themselves being attacked by actual zombies. Because I managed to miss this French remake of One Cut of the Dead at multiple festivals this year, I am happy to finally get the chance to see it. I might rally one Saturday and watch both versions just because I can.

I Am Not A Serial Killer (2016)

A teen with homicidal tendencies must fight his own urges while tracking down a supernatural killer. This movie seems right up my weird little alley. I have heard nothing but good things about this movie, and Christopher Lloyd is in the cast. So, of course, it has been on my list for years, and I am grateful Shudder is letting me finally watch it.

Birth/Rebirth (2023)

After reanimating the body of a little girl, a morgue technician makes a deal with the child’s mother to keep this secret as they continue to harvest materials from pregnant women to keep the kid alive. This is one of the best Frankenstein-influenced movies in recent years. I also need Judy Reyes to do more horror because the genre looks good on her.

Pontypool (2008)

A deadly outbreak hits a small town leaving a radio host trapped in his recording studio. His studio where his only mode of communication seems to be the trigger for the outbreak. This is another title that has been on my list forever, and I am finally going to watch it this November so I can stop bringing shame to my friend circles. I feel like I fail my favorite genre every time I have to admit that I have not seen this movie.

There you have it. Another year I’m thankful that I can still afford to stuff myself on Shudder’s horror buffet.
