In a city of millions, no one hears you scream.
Tell Ghostface: we’ve found your new favorite scary movie. After a long streak of media silence on the hotly anticipated next installment in the Scream series, we got a trailer today for Scream 6, courtesy of Paramount Pictures.
Returning from Scream 5, we follow Carpenter sisters Sam (played by Melissa Barrera) and Tara (played by Jenna Ortega). After surviving Stab movie fanatics Amber and Richie in the previous chapter, the legacy of the many Ghostface rampages throughout America follows the sisters to their new home in New York City.
The completely stacked cast for Scream 6 sees Jasmin Savoy-Brown and Mason Gooding returning as the beloved Meeks-Martin twins, Mindy and Chad. Among the newcomers is most notably horror darling Samara Weaving, star of The Babysitter movies and Ready or Not. Rounding us out in the role call are Sneakerella and Utopia Falls regular Devyn Nekoda, Tony Revolori of the Marvel Spider-Man films, and television and movie vet Dermot Mulroney.
This is the first film in the franchise to not have the legendary Neve Campbell reprise her role as iconic final girl Sidney Prescott. Scream 6 will, however, see the return of Gale Weathers, played by the beloved Courtney Cox; not to mention, a fan favorite everyone has been waiting to see again after her ambiguous fate in 4, Hayden Panetierre’s Kirby Reed.
Scream 6 is set to release in theatres on March 10th, 2023.
