The Best Horror You Can Stream on Shudder in June 2024

Shudder is dropping bangers this June, and I am excited. They have unearthed a Dracula series from 2013 that somehow flew under my radar. They are adding some indie gold like Pyewacket and Hunter Hunter. The streamer is also bringing their brand of chaos with titles like Houseboat Horror and Sons of Steel. Needless to say, this app understands the assignment a little too well. I do not know where we’ll find the hours in the day to watch all of this stuff, but I look forward to trying. Check out the five titles that I’m making a priority below.

The Best Movies to Stream on Shudder This Month

Exhuma (2024)

A shaman and her protégé are hired by a wealthy family to investigate a supernatural illness that has plagued them for generations. Exhuma is possibly the most beautifully disturbing movie I have seen this year. I cannot wait for more people to get the chance to experience this film. My biggest note is that it should have been a miniseries.

You can watch Exhuma on June 14th.

Funeral Home (1980)

A woman helps her grandmother turn the former funeral home she lives in into a bed-and-breakfast. However, the guests keep dying, which is very bad for business. I have never heard of this movie, so I’m going off the vibes and the premise. If it’s even half as chaotic as I hope, this will be a good time. It’s also a great reminder to check reviews before we book our next trips.

You can watch Funeral Home on June 1st.

Girl on the Third Floor (2019)

A man’s renovation of a dilapidated home takes some unexpected turns. I love a movie that is too weird for words, and Travis Stevens always delivers that. I would recommend going in cold for this movie and with friends. Part of the fun is reacting in real-time and hearing others also have audible responses. While waiting for this one to drop, check out Stevens’ other films, A Wounded Fawn and Jakob’s Wife, which are currently living on Shudder.

You can watch Girl on the Third Floor on June 17th.

Inn of the Damned (1975)

A sheriff gets to the bottom of why guests are disappearing at an inn. I am not usually a fan of Westerns because most of them are decidedly unkind to POC. However, Australian horror is usually some of the wildest and most brutal stuff I have ever seen. I would like to enter Talk To Me, Sissy, and The Loved Ones as evidence. So, I’m checking it out to see what they were doing in the 70s to disturb everyone’s peace.

You can watch Inn Of The Damned on June 17th.

Vacation Of Terror

An evil witch vows revenge when she is burned at the stake. A hundred years later, a little girl finds a doll containing the witch’s spirit. I love witches, possessed objects, and international horror. This is basically my summoning circle. Because there is no rest for the witchy, Shudder is also adding Vacation Of Terror II, so you know what I will be double featuring.

You can watch both Vacation Of Terror movies on June 1st.

I’m unsure if Shudder knew it was my birthday month or if they just wanted to give all weirdos like me some pretty horrific gifts. However, I’ll be sure to send them a thank you card either way after I cram all of these goodies into my eyeballs this June.
