I am back to preach the good Shudder word this month! I have returned with five titles I am planning to cram into my July shenanigans. However, Shudder is that girl and has a plethora of movies demanding our attention year-round. These are just the ones I have my creepy little eye on.
Brotherhood of the Wolf (2002)
I’m making it my mission to put as many werewolf movies in front of my eyeballs as I can this summer. This Christophe Gans film is high on that list, even with the intimidating runtime of 2 hours and 22 minutes. However, it promises a martial arts period piece with wolves, so I have to watch it immediately.
Day of the Dead (1985)
The Night of The Living Dead series was George A. Romero’s baby. All these years later, we are still reaping the benefits from his undead franchise. I’m still hoping to see all the movies in order once this lifetime. However, I will gladly watch what Shudder gives me and be grateful.
Slasher: Ripper (2023)
I watched this season on Twitter Spaces with friends as it aired. However, I owe it a rewatch because it’s my new favorite season of the show. Also, now that I’m less stressed about watching so many of my favorites die, I can spend more time studying this plot and these characters.
Horror Express (1972)
I have never actually seen this movie with my eyeballs. Luckily, the good people over at Shudder make it easy for me to fill in some of these gaps in culture that I have. It’s time to cross this Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing film off the list. I’m probably boarding this deadly train as you read this. See you on the other side.
The House by the Cemetery (1981)
As an aspiring horror historian, I need to watch so many more Lucio Fulci movies. This is one of his more popular titles, and I have never seen it. I’m planning to take a few days to watch the Fulci films Shudder has available. They currently have seven of his movies and a documentary.
Enough about me! What are you catching on Shudder this month? Tell us in the comments.
