It Came From Shudder: A Curated Selection For Your Viewing Pleasure

Horror Press would like to introduce a short, fun series to the website. Every first Friday of the month, we’ll share a small selection of movies that we’ve watched or aim to watch from Shudder’s catalog. Just a quick handful of recommendations to get your weekend going.

The Best Movies to Stream on Shudder

Let the Corpses Tan

I had the chance to speak with Sam Zimmerman, VP of programming at Shudder, courtesy of their Halfway to Halloween event. I asked for a fun, stylish pick. He recommended Let the Corpses Tan, the trailer looks fantastic, and I can’t wait to give it a watch. The film is about a gang that has to lay low after stealing some gold, but things get complicated after they run into the police. It oozes style and sex appeal, two of my favorite things.

The Ranger

I’ve heard many good things about this movie, so when I finally got to watch it the other day I was pleasantly surprised. The plot is pretty unique; a group of punks head up to the woods and go head-to-head with a park ranger. What could go wrong? It’s also an easy breezy 80 minutes, perfect for a fun Friday night movie. Keep your eyes peeled because Larry Fessenden has a real quick blink-and-you’ll-miss-it role!

The Cellar

This new Shudder original looks like your typical haunted house movie. But… there’s math? A creepy basement? Portals to different dimensions? I haven’t seen this movie yet, but I can’t wait to sit down and give it a watch. Clearly, there’s something demonic going on in that cellar!

Cursed Films: Season 2

I am beyond hooked on this series. Okay, so some of these don’t feel like the movies were cursed, but each episode hooks me in with the story and happenings that occurred while filming. I haven’t seen every episode yet, but they’ve all kept me glued to my TV screen so far.

Hope you enjoy our picks! Let us know in the comments if you enjoyed any of these recommendations!
